At Urban L, we're all about making a real difference for the environment! Right now, salons are sending a massive 877 pounds of waste to landfills and waterways every minute—that's over 420,000 pounds every day. Picture filling the Statue of Liberty one and a half times with all that waste!

But it's not the salons' fault. A lot of this waste is contaminated with chemicals (like foils and other materials), and local waste services aren’t equipped to handle it sustainably. It would still end up in a landfill or get incinerated.

That’s why we’re proud to be a Certified Sustainable Salon and a Carbon Neutral Business through Green Circle. We’re doing our part by recycling everything we can, like hair clippings, used metals (hair foils and color tubes), excess hair color, single-use items (wax strips, gloves), and even paper and plastics.

By visiting Urban L, you’re helping keep our studio as carbon-neutral as possible. A small Environmental Fee of $1.25 per visit ensures that your beauty waste is properly recycled, so together we’re making beauty more sustainable!
